Dear Journal,
I did it!! I got my locs started today!! The girl who started them Matima, has a little shop over Akente Express. She works with all natural homemade products. I am not overly happy about the size of my babylocs though They are much larger than I want. I paid her $200 to get them put in, and I know when I get home I am going to re-do them....lol...Oh well, at least I bought the cream and some oil from her. I also bought some Black Soap Shampoo that they make. It really felt good on my scalp when she washed my hair. The kids will be home in a couple of days...I wonder what they will say??? I know Shawna is going to like it...that's my little Pooh Bear!
I deep conditioned my hair since the 20th, and had been wearing a little afro. And guess what??? I liked it! Everybody was wondering why I cut off my hair, but no one had the nerve to say anything negative, so that's cool.
I have been searching the internet trying to find articles and groups about locing. I found this one site called Dreadmama. It's pretty cool...I might post a message there...It has these things called LINKS. I spent half the night reading messages on all the websites. I am sooo excited I can hardly sit still. Corey would be so proud of me! Shoot, I am so proud of me! Way to go daez!
It's cloudy outside today, but the sun is shining. My joints are aching, and I am sleepy. Wonder what's going to happen to my locs when I lay down?? I better tie it up.....lol

P.S. Before I went to bed I broke the little coils down to the size I think I want. It doesn't look the same way it did, but I think I just may have it! Going to bed now....
