| There are no right or wrong answers to these questions...I made them up so you would stop and think about the way you project yourself to the public.... The hardest thing most of the commentators at LadyLocs have had to deal with is the fact that those luscious PHINEEE men they want to get to know...or just want to get noticed by... totally ignore them. Most of the comments are based on the point that the majority of these hunks feel drawn to the ladies with relaxed or fake hair.... BUT...I will shout this from the mountain tops and mean it everytime: Dreadlocks ARE SEXY as HELL!! |
| It's all good if these bruvah's prefer the straight haired women!! I believe it has a lot to do with the way they were raised by their mothers and fathers! If their mother spent hours at the beauty salon or in the mirror trying to get and keep her hair straight...if their mother ever complained about her or anyone else's nappy head, their sisters or others in general....if the mother always pumped into their heads that there is something inherently wrong with wearing your hair nappy....Sorry ladies...there is basically NOTHING you can do with OR for with these men. If their fathers always congratulated them for having that "cute little chick with the lonng STRAIGHT hair" (( whether it was theirs or not))....if their father was always flirting with women with straight hair...if the fathers AND mothers make it a point to criticize naptural hair...these men have one particular headset....Nappy hair is a bad thing! But there are THOUSANDS of PHINEEE....conscious Black men who LOVE women with natural hair...and better yet even....locs.....Remember...."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"....and if a man cannot recognize your inner AND outer natural beauty he is NOT worthy of YOU!! If you preferred the pretense of being other than who you are....why did you loc in the first place?????.....duhhhhhh..... I mean...if men have to drive down the street...honking and flirting with you while trying to pick you up....what kind of mate would he be for YOU!! Remember....the same way he flirted with YOU before he got to tap them drawer's....he's doing the same thing to ANOTHER woman! So the brothers who pass you by...who don't even notice you because you are loced...be thankful....because he wasn't the one for you ANYWAY!! I dare any Black man drive away from you....IF he has any conciousness about him....now if this brother is the man of your dreams...hell....go get him!!! ALL women know how to get the man they really want....but be careful what you ask for...the possibility of future heartache is lurking just around the corner....lol..... When each and every one of you decided to loc your hair you made a decision to look...different... than those sisters with relaxed...weaved..or braided hair!! And along with that decision you went thru or are going thru the whole spectrum of emotions you face daily when you are locing for life! Why play games with yourself? If you want pretensious men who prefer the "society special" make a committment to TEACH him that YOU are just as beautiful but doing it the natural way...the REAL way.... All the doubts you have felt about appearing sexy is all in your mind! Listen...I am 5' 9 1/2 inches tall and wear a size 20-22, hell sometimes a size 24!! I have big feet...a biggggg head...and a big body...but I KNOW what I feel on the INSIDE shows on the OUTSIDE....and men are naturally drawn to a positive woman...no matter WHAT size she is...OR how her hair looks!! There is a bonus here to locing your hair...you NEVER have to worry about HIM finding out your weave track is loose...or have him smell your funky azz hair immediately after a relaxer....or...or how about THIS one...have him sneak up while you are doing a retouch...how friggin' sexy is THAT!!! All that stuff burning your scalp as you quickly apply it and PRAY you don't miss a spot....yeah....real sexy right.... Instead...what he will see is you grooming your NATURAL hair...and as you run your fingers thru your locs to separate them..or as you palm roll them....or twist them....he doesn't see your hair falling out in a comb....instead he sees your luxurious locs...flowing free....and he sees YOU....not some primped up prissy azz Prima donna who's afraid to have her hair touched because it will fall OFF or OUT!! Take a shower with your man...and think about it....You aren't running out of the bathroom with a towel around your head...tripping because you have to immediately blow-dry your hair or it will mat up and start to break off...hell nahhh....you take a shower with your man and shake your head...and your locs do their own thing....NATURALLY.... Remember when you made love with your partner and your hair was relaxed....remember how you worried that...."uh ohhh...if I sweat my hair is gonna be JACKED UP!!"...well you don't have to worry about THAT anymore....your locs are as sexy as can be...and ANY man who is worth his weight in gold will acknowledge this. And if your man runs his fingers thru your locs he will not only be feeling your hair...he will be feeling YOU...the real you....the natural YOU.... Yes...THESE men are PHINEEEE....because they know WHO you are....and love the person they see! AND...in the long run...who do you want to raise your children...a shallow man who is totally intrigued with straight hair and will want to do the same to your daughters or sons...or a man who will love your little nappyheaded children because they come from HIS seed....think about it.... I'm not hatin' on the sisters who relax their hair....they are in a totally different mindset than we loced sisters are! Some relax for style reasons...some to hide their true identity....some just...because....and if you relax your hair it's all good...until you get the wrong relaxer and jack yourself up...If you feel the need to straighten your hair just keep in mind WE...the natural DIVA's are and feel JUST as sexy as YOU.... And if you are an older woman...like me....you will find men are attracted to you because you carry a dignity about yourself that you probably didn't have when your hair was relaxed...because the older you get your hair starts to thin with relaxers...but we wear our locs like a crown...head held high and boldly facing the world!!
