| Well, I made it thru another year....Thank you GOD!! How about that!! I am very excited to be turning 51, because frankly, when I was 21...well...let's just say I didn't have a CLUE....lol...51...fifty-one...fiddyone....FIVE-ONE....lol..... I just thought I would share some of the things I have learned in my first one half century and one year of life..... |

| When you turn 51.....You start looking for serious signs of discontent in your life....you wonder if any of the things you planned to do when you reached this age are EVAH going to happen... And then you realize that if YOU don't MAKE them happen you will be wondering the same thing if you are blessed to turn 60!!!...lol..... |

| When you turn 51.....Every day is one filled with joy and surprises Even when something just ain't right!!! You find yourself focusing on the positive instead of the negative.... And when you let go of all negativity and live with a positive mind...GOOD things happen to you.....like recognizing your blessings instead of what's NOT coming your way... |

| When you turn 51.....That gray hair that used to bother you sooo much just...doesn't matter anymore....it just KEEPS on coming....lol... So what EYE did to FINALLY ((I HOPE!!)) lay the whole thing to rest is this....lol...I went to the Clariol website and uploaded a picture of myself into the little "Try on a hair color" section....I selected several shades of REDHAIR that I thought were pretty cool....lol.... |

| Then I found a couple of hairstyles (like paper doll cut-out wigs)...of course they had no dreads which, in reality...made it even better because it was kinda cool to remember what I looked like with straight hair...lol.... I fitted the "wigs" on top my head (I found a picture of me with my locs off my face)) and selected the color I wanted to "SEE" me in...lol....I chose about 5 different colors of vibrant red.... |

| I saved the selections and posted a poll at Lovinlocs....lol... I called it "Choose mini-me's hair color"....lol...and added a link to the different colors so the group could live my fantasy WITH me.... It was sooo much fun!!! Now mini-me ((and ME)) FINALLY had the chance to have red hair...and ya'll...I looked GOOD.....lol.... So now the hair color issue isn't a ISSUE anymore....I feel content and mini-me is QUIET...for now....lol....I found a solution!!!...lol... |

| When you turn 51.....Younger and older and same age men think you are this mysterious....exotic...sexy.... creature who has wisdom and experience...even when YOU think you are dull as dirt....lol..... It's sooo funny...because they want to hang around with you and stop you alllll the time to tell you how great you look...or how, if they know you, how smart you are....but at 51 YOU believe it..lol... I find it refreshing and fun because it just shows ya what living right will do...you wear your age well...... |

| When you turn 51.....People have a lot of respect for you when you say something.... For me it's because I have a youthful heart and an open mind... and locing my hair helped validate my free spirit and loving nature..... I am a born nuturer...I give of myself freely and openly and keep it real....and that in itself is nothing unless people recognize the truth of your words..... |

| When you turn 51.....Your healthy hair and skin start to get a little dry...it's part of getting older and you learn to compensate for it... You appreciate having a healthy MIND and feed your spirit with healthy rewards....giving thanks each and every day is a good way to start...and finding out what's important in your life by making sure NO negativity from outside forces touches it is the best way to go... |

| When you turn 51.....You have a confidence you didn't even know existed when you were 21! You realize your options are endless....that style is a state of mind and creativity is as simple as a flip of your locs or change of lipstick... It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor....having and acknowledging you have FREE WILL to do as you choose and live upfull and righteously or wallow in self-pity is a choice YOU make!! Keeping yourself surrounded by people who accept and understand you is NOT as important as understanding and accepting yourself...whether you are happy or not depends solely on YOU!!! Making peace with things you have no control over is more important than trying to FORCE positivity into your life...Positivity comes from recognizing that it's entirely up to YOU to bring and keep success in your life...in allll aspects of your life...deciding to let go of things and people who do not maintain your values and truths is an act of self love....And sending yourself thru changes by letting negativity breed inside you by trying to force the light of dawn is the worst thing you can possibly do when trying to accomplish anything.... Maintaining your sanity can be as simple as giving inspiration to others so they can recognize the whole world does not revolve around them...but instead it revolves around ALL of us...each person who touches your life is JUST as important as your are...because each person who touches your life has their own individual issues to deal with...you can either do your best to help those who need it more than you and take a stand to be a useful member of Mother Earth or you can fall by the wayside by serving only yourself....the choice is entirely up to you... You can use your free will to help others with an open heart and mind...or focus purely and obsessively on SELF...the choice is yours...because once you know WHO you are and HOW you love, that love is validated in ways you don't even realize....and many times find it hard to accept...learning to accept love from others is just as important as giving it to them!! And recognizing and giving thanks to YOUR higher power...whoever or whatever you choose that to be.... is what makes your whole life WHOLE...."things" do not complete you...living your life to the fullest does.... Thank you GOD for giving me another day of life....AMEN..... |
