This is the story of how I loced my hair WITHOUT losing my mind!

On labor day weekend of the year 2000 I decided it was time to get rid of my relaxed hair and begin my loc journey....

Little did I know of the trials and tribulations you face when going naptural.

There are emotional highs and lows that you cannot imagine.   But in the end, when you see the progress, the beauty of your natural hair, the journey is worth it.

Just prior to beginning my journey, I took a good look at myself in the mirror and realized I didn't know this person peering back at me.  I  had changed my hair so many times I had no idea what my natural hair looked or felt like anymore....

My son had given me the final inspiration to loc my hair.   He had been locing his for about 3 or 4 years when I started my journey.   I would look at his crown in wonder. This was the same young man who, when he was a child, I would go out of my way to cut, jheri curl, or fade his hair because I thought it was unruly and hard to keep neat.

When he started locing his hair I watched as his crown formed, and as his crown formed I longed for my own, but really wasn't sure how to begin.   So I waited...entirely too long!!

Let me tell you how I came to take the big plunge.....and kept my sanity in the process.. Enjoy!

your mind....
