daez'z natural and healthy home remedies....
Over the last ten years I have been collecting different recipes here for maintaining your natural hair from basic products you can find in your kitchen, and from leftovers from reformed product junkie days...lol...!  I am also an advocate of using natural methods of healing what ails you....

I thought it was about time to share some of them with you.....

There is nothing simplier than making your own hair treatments to clean and maintain your hair's natural moisture...

And I have a couple of other good tried and true recipes also....like a hot/cold pad for your aching body....

Some of these I have found online thru posts from different loc groups... most I have created on my own...all are inexpensive...they have to be... cuz I'm on a tight budget...lol....

Enjoy!

Thank you God for giving me another day of life....AMEN.....

Homemade Castille Shampoo

This has become one of my favorite most inexpensive recipes because it only costs as much as a bar of soap!

1 bar of pure castille soap
1 quart of distilled water
1 cheese grater
I empty 1 quart CLEAN container

Grate the bar of castille soap into little particles....the particles should be very fine when you are finished...

Pour the shredded castille soap bar particles into 1 quart of distilled water....

If you like, you can take a hand mixer and mix the whole thing up in a bowl..  It will get foamy and the soap will dissolve into the water and become a shampoo...

((OR))

You can bring the water to a simmer over a low heat...add the soap particles....Bring mixture to a boil stirring with a wooden or hard plastic spoon until all the soap has dissolved.

Allow to cool fully...put in a jar and store for future use....

You can use this as a base and add EO's or herbs as desired per use...or use it along...be sure to rinse completely and very well....good stuff!

Store in a cool dark place, like under the cabinet in the bathroom

You're good to go....TA DOW!!!!!

Olive Oil and Tea Tree Hot Oil Treatment

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Pure Tea Tree Essential Oil

Mix 1-1/2 ounce of the olive oil with 3-4 DROPS of tea tree oil in a microwave oven safe bowl or measuring cup

Heat in microwave....my microwave gets VERY hot, so I only heat it for 35-40 SECONDS!!

When the temperature is warm, NOT hot after testing it, pour it gently over your head and quickly massage in

Cover your head with a plastic jheri curl type bag, or if you don't have one of those, use one of those bathroom sized trash bags...tuck..wrap and tie it...it works....lol...

You can now either get under your old hood dryer for 20 minutes...or use a microwave heated towel and leave it on until the heat leaves it....

Now here's your quandry...to wash it out or not...

I ususally leave it in my hair....the heat from the dryer/towel helps soak up a lot of it....

But if you don't want to leave it in...now is the time to do your regular wash and re-twist....

**NOTE
NEVER use pure essential oils directly on your hair or skin.  You MUST use some type of carrier oil...it's like a barrier...to keep the pure oils from literally burning your skin!!!!

You can also do this treatment with just the olive oil...

And if you like, you can substitute other EO for the tea tree such as these:

Bergamot
Rosemary
Sage
Lavendar
Jasmine
Basil

All these oils have healing properties...
Rice Heating/Cooling Pad

This is a fantastic lil' sumpin' I got from my daughter Pooh when she was pregnant with Ray-Ray....and I can't tell you how many times I've used it for myself!!

Get a clean white tub sock and fill it with plain white rice....I get the great big giant bag that costs about $2.50

Into the rice in the sock, put about 10-15 drops of Lavendar Essential Oil, or any fragrant EO that relaxes you....

Tie the end of the sock in a tight knot

Kinda knead the rice around in the sock to mix the EO in thourougly to kill the odor of rice....this should only take a few seconds...

Heat in microwave for 4-6 minutes, or until it reaches the temperature you need for your comfort level...
NOT TOO hot!!!

You can take this pad and put it ANYWHERE on your body where you have aches and pains....it's really flexible...soothing...and extremely comfortable....The heat stays in it for quite a while, and if it needs reheating just pop it back in the microwave again!

It can be reused over and over and over and over!!!  I store mine in one of those plastic grocery bags to keep it clean....You do not have to refrigerate it afterwards......

FOR Cold Pad

If you have a body part you need to apply ice to and can't stand the feel of plain wet ice on your skin....

Put the rice pad in a plastic shopping bag, and stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes!  The rice particles get icy cold....remove the sock from the plastic bag

Apply the rice sock to the area that is sore....put back in freezer if needed to re-freeze rice....

Pretty cool, huh....lol.....

Creamy Honey Lip Balm

Got dry chapped lips??  Here's a simple remedy that costs very little and lasts forever....BEWARE it's VERY addictive....lol....takes about 10 minutes total time....

1 teaspoon 100% pure beeswax

1 teaspoon pure cocoa butter cream
1 teaspoon olive oil (or sweet almond oil))
1 vitamin E capsule
honey to flavor

Mix the beeswax and cocoa butter cream together...Poke hole in vitamin E capsule and squeeze oil in...discard the empty capsule... add olive or sweet almond oil... add honey to taste....the amount is up to you....STIR completely.. kinda to whipped texture....

Pour into clean empty lip balm jars or containers....cover...and allow to solidify...

If you carry it in your purse, cut a small piece of wax paper and cover the top of the jar or container before putting the top on to keep it from melting into your bag....that's it!!...lol.....

All Natural Lime Deodorant

Okay...I haven't tried this one, but a lot of people are worried about using store bought under arm deodorants because of the aluminum content...the answer??

Use a fresh lime...yep, just squeeze half the lime into your pits and let it dry...

It's supposedly NOT sticky, and kills body odor..naturally....lol..

Try it...you might like it!!
