Fun at the Fundraiser....
My friend, Rasta DJ Gordon held a fundraiser and we had a ball....the thing that's so freeing about being amongst a crowd enjoying Reggae music is the harmony and peace everyone participates with....I spent most of the night taking pictures....duhhhhh....lol....LionSoulJah was the featured band...there were several guest artist AND a Reggae DJ spinning the jams....It was the last big event I attended in 2002....

There were quite a few non-Black people there with Dreadlocks...some quite nice locs, actually, so I'm sharing my pictures with you....Everyone was totally dressed down and totally having a locin' good time!!!.....
Rasta Dj Gordon....founder of the Jamaican Education & Recreation Support Program and host of the fundraiser....

Donations:  School supplies for the children....

Each person bought a box or bag of school supplies....because I am on a tight budget I went to the neighborhood dollar store and loaded up a box with crayons...paper...pencils...drawing paper....etc....anything school orientated....

it was
VERY refreshing to be able to know EXACTLY what your money was being spent on because YOU bought the supplies yourself...

All in all, I had a great time....and DJ had a great turnout for his combination birthday party/fundraiser....there were about 150 people that showed up....the majority of them were college students...Each person bought a big bag or a box full of school supplies for the kids....and believe me, that's a LOT of school supplies....it was soo much fun!!  It was a great way to bring in the holidays..... with the gift of giving to those who really....truly....need it...ya know....yeah....you know....

The food was excellent!!  DJ served traditional Jamaican dishes like my favorites...steamed cabbage and spiced mashed potatoes and rice an red beans cooked in coconut milk and all kinds of good vegetarian stuff!!....

I TRIED to take a lot more pictures of the party people but the club was too dark... and shoot....those overhead lights were just blinking and flashing away....lol....oh well...next time!!....

Thank you God for giving me another day of life....AMEN.....
